Business

In this semester, I took business subject as one of my subjects in this course. I was excited because I would be able to learn more about business. To me, business is equivalent to money at that time. But, as I learned more about business, I found out that business isn't just about money but also the responsibility of helping the society. In this subject, the first topic would be my favourite topic because it explains to me business clearly and also corrects my perspective towards business. Besides, it gives me a clear definition of business and I also learned function of a business. After this topic, I knew that without business, our world will be still remaining in stone age. Topic 4.1 was my least favourite topic because I wasn't really into the structures of a company/business. In this topic, we learned about the structures of a company and how a company runs. I found this boring because I wasn't an employee nor an employer of a company. Therefore, I don't see there's any help in my life of this topic currently, but maybe it'll be useful in my future. Though I didn't really like this topic, I still have to love it because it still part of business. I tried to link this topic with something that I like. For example, I'll put the structure of a Mc Donald into one of the structure to make it look more interesting to me. The topic which I find the most useful/applicable to my everyday life would be the topic that teaches my how to plan a business. When I plan a business, I have to set a goal then think of a strategy and the tactics of achieving the goal. This is also applicable in my life. For example, I could set a goal of achieving 3.5 CGPA in my foundation studies. The strategy would be, study hard, play less. The tactic would be stop procrastinating. Therefore, I find this topic really helps me in life.

Our first assignment was to propose a business to the investors. My group members were Tan Yong Ming, Yong Chang Theng and Zachery Sebastian. Our business was about building houses and selling it.

Our final project was the charity drive, We were required to raise RM800 and above in order to meet the lowest requirement for our assignment. I formed a group with Tan Wei How, Tan Yong Ming, Yong Chang Theng and Zachery Sebastian. Our stall were selling sunglasses, lighters and phone accessories. During the charity drive, we also asked for donations from people. All the money that we raise during the charity drive will be then donated to Yayasan Nanyang Press. In the end of the charity drive, we were able to raise an amount of RM800++.
